Kota Kinabalu travel blog - the place you see in these photos is not Maldives. It is
Kapalai, a "floating paradise" and a beautiful resort located in Semporna, a small district in East Malaysia.
Kapalai resort was built on Ligitan Reef sands.
Kapalai is a water village for honeymoon and comfortable holiday with no land in sight. It is also famous as diving center among avid scuba divers from around the world who came here to explore it's beauty.
If you travel to Kapalai by using land bus, it takes about 8 hours to arrive in Semporna town. Then, you will have to take a boat ride to Kapalai, it takes roughly about 40 minutes to 1 hour depending on sea condition and weather.
Kapalai has it's own electricity supply. The resort is surrounded by a good mix of sand and coral. No strong current around the area. Just smooth sea and endless view of blue sea. Photo credits: @
